Herbal teas to increase a child's appetite

Dry mouth remedy

Often, in the absence of appetite, dryness of the oral mucosa appears. To eliminate it, both children and adults are given lemon slices or sour candies to suck. After this, you need to rinse your mouth thoroughly to avoid tooth decay.

Improved appetite can be improved by taking Eleutherococcus extract or ginseng tincture , 1 drop for every 3 years of life in the morning and afternoon. These drugs increase the metabolic rate and reduce blood sugar levels. They are recommended for older children.

It is necessary to strictly observe the dosage, since exceeding it can cause overexcitation of the nervous system and inhibition of the secretory activity of the stomach. This condition is manifested by increased nervousness, attacks of irritable weakness, and trembling of the fingers.

For children

  • from 3 to 5 years, up to 12 grams per day are prescribed,

Herbal infusions

1. To stimulate appetite, a collection of herbs is used:

  • wormwood herb (collected in May) 25 g,
  • Calamus rhizome 25 g,
  • leaves of watch trifoliate 25 g,
  • caraway fruits 25 g.

Pour 1 tablespoon of the mixture into 200 ml of boiling water, leave for 20 minutes, squeeze, strain. Dilute 1-2 tablespoons of infusion in 50 ml of water and give to the child 10-15 minutes before meals 3-4 times a day. Drink in small sips.

2. Yarrow herb 20 g,

wormwood herb (collected in May) 30 g.

Pour 1 tablespoon of the mixture into 200 ml of boiling water, leave for 20 minutes, strain, squeeze. Dilute 1-2 tablespoons of infusion in 50 ml of water and give to the child 10-15 minutes before meals 3-4 times a day. Drink in small sips.

3. The herb wormwood is an excellent remedy for restoring appetite. It is collected in May before flowering begins. Freshly harvested plants are finely chopped, filled into a jar without compacting it, filled with cold water up to the neck, and covered with a lid. Leave for 2-3 weeks. Children are given 1-3 drops, diluted in 50 ml of water, 10-15 minutes before meals 4-5 times a day. Young children can be given with honey at first, and as they get used to it, reduce the amount of honey.

4. Pour 2 teaspoons of dandelion root into 200 ml of cold water, leave for 8 hours, strain. Take 30-50 ml 4 times a day before meals in small sips.
