City Clinical Hospital No. 31 was opened in 1970 and over the years has acquired a reputation as one of the best multidisciplinary healthcare institutions in Moscow. In the city healthcare system, the hospital solves the problem of providing the capital's population with both emergency and routine medical care.

Gastroenterology

On the basis of City Clinical Hospital No. 31 there is a program research laboratory of surgical gastroenterology and endoscopy and an educational and methodological center for endoscopic technologies OLIMPAS, founded by corresponding member. RAMS, Doctor of Medical Sciences Yu.M. Pantsyrev.

The joint activities of the endoscopic surgery departments of City Clinical Hospital No. 31 and the gastroenterological laboratory combine research and diagnostic functions, and also provide outpatient and inpatient treatment of the abdominal cavity and gastrointestinal tract, meeting the highest medical standards.

Endoscopy Department

The gastroenterological laboratory is equipped with high-quality equipment, combines research and diagnostic functions, and also carries out outpatient and inpatient programs in the following areas:

• planned and emergency upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (UGET);
• modern methods of endoscopic interventions for diseases of the pancreato-biliary zone (ERCP, EPST);
• endoscopic ultrasonography. Annually – more than 450 studies;
• planned and emergency colonoscopy;
• endoscopic examination of the stomach;
• capsule diagnostics of the intestine.

In connection with the rapid development of this scientific and practical direction, an endoscopy department was organized in the hospital, which in 2002 moved to a new building, receiving an arsenal of the most modern equipment at its disposal.

All doctors of the department have achieved a high level of mastery of modern endoscopy methods and make a great contribution both to the treatment process and to the scientific research of the clinic.

Long-term fruitful partnership cooperation between City Clinical Hospital No. 31, Russian National Research Medical University named after. N.I. Pirogov and the Japanese company Olympas led to the creation of an educational and methodological center for endoscopic technologies on the basis of this department in April 2003. All Center employees completed internships in leading clinics in Japan and Europe. Every year the hospital hosts a Russian-Japanese seminar with the participation of highly qualified Japanese specialists.
