About the center
NCC JSC Russian Railways is the largest in the industry and one of the largest medical research centers in Russia with a clinical branch of Central Clinical Hospital No. 1, which includes a multidisciplinary hospital with 549 beds, 2 consultative and diagnostic departments (on the territory of Chasovaya St., building 20 and Volokolamskoye Highway, building 84) and more than 10 diagnostic departments.
The clinic is a multidisciplinary medical complex where patients are given the opportunity to receive all types of diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation care, including high-tech, and a number of health services.

Gastroenterology
The gastroenterological department of the Scientific Center of JSC Russian Railways is a multidisciplinary treatment and diagnostic department, with a wide range of capabilities for differential diagnosis and modern treatment of a large number of different nosologies of gastrointestinal diseases:

- cardiospasm;

- peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum;

The priority areas are diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver diseases and differential diagnostic screening for fevers of unknown origin.
Diagnostic methods
The specialists of the gastroenterology department of our clinic are proficient in all modern methods of diagnosing diseases of the digestive system. The diagnostic capabilities of the department meet the highest international standards - this includes ultrasound diagnostics using devices of new modifications, the ability to conduct endoscopic examinations, puncture biopsy of the liver with subsequent histological examination of the tissue, as well as CT, MRI and MSCT of the abdominal organs, dynamic scintigraphy of the esophagus, stomach, liver and biliary tract.
Including:
- study of gastric secretion using pH-metry with computer software;
- conducting pharmacological tests for individual selection of medicines;
- duodenal intubation (therapeutic and diagnostic);
- study of gastric secretion during endoscopic examination;
- determination of Helicobacter pylori infection using a rapid test;
- diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori infection and determination of the effectiveness of eradication therapy using a breath test with C13-labeled urea;
- X-ray examination of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum, irrigoscopy (examination of the large intestine);
- esophagogastroduodenoscopy with biopsy of the gastric mucosa, including for Helicobacter pylori contamination.
The doctors of the department, together with leading specialists from the departments of gastroenterology of Russia and employees of the department of propaedeutics of internal diseases and gastroenterology, carry out organizational, methodological and scientific work - standards for the diagnosis and treatment of a number of gastroenterological diseases have been developed and improved.
Treatment methods
We use the latest methods and achievements of domestic gastroenterology in the treatment of gastroenterological patients. In the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, the specialists of our department have achieved good results, and have accumulated extensive experience in the treatment of chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver. In addition to modern medications, efferent treatment methods (plasmapheresis), hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO), and physical therapy are used.
