  • autoimmune liver diseases;
  • liver cirrhosis of various etiologies
  • hereditary and metabolic liver diseases (Wilson's disease, glycogen storage disease, tyrosinemia, hemochromatosis, etc.);
  • acid-dependent diseases of the upper digestive tract (chronic gastroduodenitis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, gastroesophageal reflux disease);

Diagnostic methods

Examination of patients in the clinic is carried out using the entire unique range of modern diagnostic capabilities of the center.

Patients with liver pathology undergo

  • diagnostics for the presence of hepatitis viruses and herpes virus infection using ELISA and PCR methods,
  • a wide range of biochemical and immunological studies to assess liver function and identify specific autoantibodies,
  • Ultrasound examination of the abdominal organs with assessment of the state of blood flow through the vessels using Doppler ultrasound using expert-class equipment.

To clarify the diagnosis, assess the activity of the process and the stage of liver damage, patients undergo

  • morphological examination of liver tissue, as well as
  • computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging with the possibility of contrasting blood vessels and the biliary system,
  • dynamic and static hepatobiliscintigraphy.

Assessment of the dynamics of the sclerotic process during therapy is carried out non-invasively using ultrasound elastography using the Fibroscan apparatus.

Children with pathologies of the digestive tract undergo a full range of endoscopic examinations of the upper and lower parts of the gastrointestinal tract, as well as video capsule examination and confocal endomicroscopy with the possibility of intravital microscopy with a magnification of 1000 times, determination of acidity in the esophagus and stomach.

Treatment

Based on the identified disorders and taking into account concomitant pathology, according to modern schemes in accordance with international standards, individualized treatment of patients is carried out using the most effective drugs, including

  • genetically engineered anticytokines (infliximab, adalimumab),
  • antiviral drugs of the interferon group (short and pegylated interferons - Peg-Intron and Pegasys),
  • topical corticosteroids (budesonide).

If necessary, infusion therapy with blood products and blood substitutes, as well as parenteral nutrition, is carried out.

Considering that the “NNPCZD” of the Ministry of Health of Russia is a multidisciplinary pediatric medical institution, children being treated at the clinic, if indicated, are consulted by other specialists (ophthalmologist, pulmonologist, surgeon, cardiologist, rheumatologist, neurologist, psychologist, etc.).
