Mechanism, spectrum of action
This medicine is an anthelmintic.
- It disrupts oxidative phosphorylation,
- acts on two layers of cestode tegument,
- causes paralysis of neuromuscular tissue,
- reduces resistance to proteolytic enzymes,
- reduces the viability of eggs.
Contraindications are hypersensitivity to the drug and pregnancy.
Application diagram
The drug is taken orally in the form of a fine powder. Before each dose, you need to take 2 g of baking soda.
Adults are recommended to take 2-3 g per day orally. The daily dose is taken in 4 doses every 2 hours (at 10, 12, 14 and 16 hours), food is taken at 8, 13 and 18 hours. Treatment is carried out for 4 days, after 4 days it is repeated.
- Children under 2 years of age are prescribed 0.5 g per day,
- children 3-6 years old – 1 g per day,
- children 6-12 years old – 1.5 g per day,
- children over 12 years old – 2 g per day
within 3 days. In case of relapse, it is necessary to repeat the course according to the same scheme.
Taeniasis , teniarynchosis , diphyllobothriasis
Adults are prescribed 2-3 g on an empty stomach, after 2 hours it is necessary to take a saline laxative, the dose is repeated after 1 month.
Children are recommended:
for helminthiasis caused by T. solium, 50 mg per kg of body weight once on an empty stomach, or 2-3 hours after a light breakfast or dinner;
for helminthiasis caused by T. saginata and D. latum, in the same daily doses, but half the dose is taken after breakfast, and the rest after 1 hour, followed by a saline laxative 2 hours after the last dose.
