How to protect yourself from poisoning?
By following a few rules, you can reduce the risk of poisoning to a minimum, this is especially important for children.
- Eat large sea fish no more than 2 times a week (especially for children and pregnant women). Small fish and shrimp are much safer.
- Properly dispose of energy-saving and fluorescent lamps. They must be handed over to specialized organizations in special containers.
- In the city, purify indoor air using a filter.
- Wear gold jewelry in moderation and remove it at night.
- Correctly collect mercury if the thermometer breaks.
How to properly collect mercury?
If you break a thermometer indoors, then you need to perform a certain sequence of actions.
- Reduce the room temperature by opening a window or turning on the air conditioner.
- Wear shoe covers, gloves and a medical mask. Put cotton wool moistened with water into the mask.
- Collect mercury balls by sticking them on tape or drawing them into a rubber enema.
- Place the mercury enema or tape in a plastic bag, close it and place it in a jar of water, closing it with a lid.
- Perform wet cleaning of the room with bleach.
- Dispose of the clothes you were wearing all this time.
